GanedenBC30 — A One of a Kind Probiotic

What Are Probiotics

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) probiotics are “live microorganisms which, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host.” There are numerous factors that can disturb your intestinal balance and decrease the level of beneficial bacteria in your gut such as: Poor diet, Age, Illness, Hormonal change, Travel, Stress, Antibiotics, Medications, Changes in diet. Taking a probiotic can help keep you balanced. And with an astounding 70% of your immune system in your digestive system, it makes sense that a healthy digestive system supports a healthy immune system.

GanedenBC30 — A One of a Kind Probiotic

GanedenBC30 (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086) is an EXTREMELY stable probiotic due to the cell’s ability to form a protective spore. Just like seeds wait to grow when conditions are optimal, GanedenBC30 spores wait to germinate until they reach the intestines where the moisture level, temperature and nutrient levels are just right. This protective shell also gives GanedenBC30 the ability to survive: Harsh manufacturing processes, Product shelf life, The journey through the digestive system. Many probiotics, such as those used in yogurt, are vegetative (ex. Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium) and just can’t survive these stresses.

What is the difference between GanedenBC30 and other spore-forming probiotics?

When comparing GanedenBC30 to other spore formers you need to ask if it is safe for everyone and do they have strain-specific data to support the efficacy of the exact strain. B. subtilis for example is contraindicated for use in immuno-compromised populations, while GanedenBC30 can be used by virtually anyone. Efficacy of a probiotic is strain specific, and just because a stain may be of the same genus and species, does not mean that they have the same effect. To date, there are 24 published papers that support the safety and efficacy of GanedenBC30, while other spore forming Bacillus coagulans have little to no data on their strain.

Why only 1 Billion CFUs? My probiotic pills have 50 Billion!

The benefits of all probiotics are 100% strain specific. Some strains may require an intake of 10 billion, 50 billion or even more in order to confer a specific health benefit, while GanedenBC30 has been shown, in peer-reviewed papers, to support immune health at 500 million CFU per day and support digestive health and protein utilization at 1 billion CFU. More is not always better!
