I do not know about you, but I personally struggle to trust professionals who provide a service that does not meet their own personal standards. A dietitian who does not practice healthy eating, an out of shape yoga teacher, a facialist with troubled skin, these contradictions make me pause. In my view, our health and our aesthetics are deeply correlated. A person in good health radiates it outwardly, not through model perfect features, but through that unmistakable glow of someone who is balanced, healthy, and genuinely content.

So when I met Nathalie Picquaert, I thought: "Oh my God, what a beauty." I was certain she was around 35. Her porcelain skin, her gamine like charm, her petite silhouette, her beautiful hair and radiant smile, everything about her spoke of someone who truly understands skin at its deepest level. When I learned her actual age and her profession, I genuinely wished I lived closer, just to keep her as my personal skincare coach forever.
Nathalie Picquaert is the founder and director of Centre Anadrea, an aesthetic centre specializing in anti-aging treatments and biological research in Hyères, on the stunning French Riviera between Toulon and Saint Tropez. She is also an expert consultant for Biologique Recherche, a brand that, let us be honest, is not easy to navigate at home unless you are guided by a truly skilled consultant. In my experience, even many official Biologique Recherche institutes lack consultants with the depth of knowledge and passion that Nathalie possesses.

For the first Sunday Readings of 2026, we sat down with Nathalie Picquaert to discuss the biggest beauty trends of the year ahead, honest, real insights from someone I consider one of the finest skincare experts I have ever encountered.

From Childhood Dream to Skincare Expert: Nathalie Picquaert's Journey

Nathalie, tell us about yourself. How is it possible that you look so young? Were you passionate about skincare from a young age? How did you become the queen of beauty, tell us a bit more about your background.

When I was a little girl, my mother would regularly visit her aesthetician for treatments, and she always brought back perfume samples that I would collect. The scents, the textures of the creams, everything fascinated me. My childhood dream was to open an old fashioned perfumery, but the arrival of stores like Sephora put an end to that dream.

However, I always kept this idea in my heart, to create a universe where beauty could be revealed with gentleness, where people feel comfortable without judgment. Throughout my various training programs, I came to understand that the most important thing is to respect your skin's needs and above all not to overdo it. Prioritizing consistency and listening to your skin. This deeply respectful and holistic philosophy, where facial and body care are inseparable from inner well being, is what guides me.
It is this coherence, more than time itself, that maintains radiance and vitality.

HER SELECTION

“Coherence, not time, is what keeps skin alive"

What are the biggest trends of 2026 in the beauty world? Which treatments are the most interesting and promising?

In 2026, we are finally moving away from the era of aggressive treatments that promise instant miracles but leave the skin exhausted. The beauty world is embracing a much more intelligent approach: working with your skin, not against it.

What excites me most this year is the rise of biotechnology in skincare. Ingredients like exosomes, targeted peptides, and PDRN are game changers because they speak the language of your cells. Instead of forcing the skin to react, they gently support its natural repair mechanisms. It's like giving your skin the tools it needs to heal itself from within.

On the treatment side, I'm seeing clients fall in love with non invasive regenerative technologies. Radiofrequency for firming, focused ultrasound for lifting, LED therapy for calming inflammation and boosting collagen, microcurrents for toning facial muscles. What makes these so special is that the results build gradually and look completely natural. No one will ever ask what you've had done. You simply look like yourself, but rested, refreshed, glowing.

The days of frozen faces and obvious interventions are behind us. In 2026, the goal is to look like the best version of yourself, nothing more, nothing less.

What are the most common mistakes women make with their skincare? What awareness should they develop?

The mistakes I observe most often are women who use products unsuitable for their skin's needs, and who change their routine too frequently because they follow influencers promoting trendy brands or anti aging actives that are not adapted to their needs, like retinoids or repeated chemical peels. The consequence is skin that becomes reactive, fragile, with an altered skin barrier. Their skin no longer regenerates properly.

My recommendation is to respect your skin by choosing truly adapted treatments, following the advice of a professional, and applying the same routine consciously morning and evening for at least three months before changing anything. It is consistency that gives positive results.
Changing products every month prevents the skin from adapting. The skin needs time, four to eight weeks, to respond to an active ingredient and show visible results. Moreover, too many changes disrupt the cutaneous microbiome, creating inflammation and imperfections. The consequence is that no lasting result can take hold. The skin spends its time adjusting instead of repairing itself.

And my final recommendation is obviously to apply a UVA sunscreen all year round.

You are also a mother and a busy woman. Tell us about your own personal routine, how do you balance it all?

I apply a routine adapted to my skin's needs morning and evening, even if I go to bed very late.

I am devoted to Biologique Recherche products for their concentration of actives and the visible results on the skin. I readapt my routine with each change of season.

I drink a lot of water and organic herbal teas. I try to eat balanced, although I am very greedy. It is my enormous weakness.

For technical treatments, I do microcurrents three times a week followed by an LED mask.
I have been taking nutritional supplements since I was 25. Two years ago I discovered Depuravita which I adore. I take Moon Skin every morning for a balanced intake of antioxidants, and Absolute Shield to strengthen my immunity.

I complement with liposomal Vitamin C from Altrient, marine collagen from Vild Nord, Vitamin D3 K2 in the morning, and magnesium every evening.

I am quite disciplined on this subject because I can measure the benefits.
